Sadhin Sawka Aran is an event to bring Santal community for a time of celebration of what God is doing among them. This will also be a time of vision casting, learning, equipping, exchanging idea and training to boost up the movement.
It was in 2011 God brought four like minded leaders together to discuss about creating a movement among Santals to bring help and hope. They decided to join hands to organize a large gathering of Santals in Dumka.
After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could count, from every nation and all tribes and peoples and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, and palm branches were in their hands; (Revelation 7:9)
After much prayer the event was organized from October 4-7, 2012 in Dumka Gandhi Maidan. Program was inaugurated by then Dept. Chief Minister of Jharkhand Mr. Hemant Soren. Around 10000 Santals from all over Eastern India took part in this event. Next event was organized in Pakur in May 2013 and Dumka in October 2013.
Many critics showed their concern that this kind of event may bring communal disharmony. We would like to clarify that our desire is not to bring any communal disharmony. We are doing this so that Santal people will hear the teachings of the Bible in their own mother tongue as many of these participants may speak only Santali. We also want Santals to be proud of their language and culture. God loves Santals as they are. We believe that language and culture is given by God to express our joy and thankfulness to him.
We would like to appeal to all Santals who love the God of the Bible to join this movement to bring transformation among Santal people.
